Assistance programs for private individuals in the field of renewable energy installations and increasing energy efficiency in Poland

1-My Electricity 6.0 Program

Scope: Financing for photovoltaic installations, energy storage and heat storage.

Form of support:


– PLN 7,000 for a photovoltaic installation (2-10 kW),
– PLN 16,000 for energy storage,
– PLN 5,000 for heat storage.

 Institution: National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW).

Goal: Promoting self-consumption of energy in households by installing photovoltaic micro-installations and supporting energy storage.

Program number: Edition 6.0 (2024).

2- Clean Air Program

Scope: Energy modernization of single-family buildings, including replacement of heat sources with ecological ones (heat pumps), photovoltaic installations and thermal modernization.

Form of support:

– Grants: from 30% to 90% of eligible costs (depending on income level).
– Maximum support for photovoltaics: up to PLN 12,000.
– Institution: NFOŚiGW, WFOŚiGW.

Goal: Reduction of pollutant emissions by modernising heating sources and improving the energy efficiency of single-family homes.

Program number: 2023-2024 Edition.

3-Thermomodernization relief

Scope: Tax deduction for expenses related to energy modernisation of single-family buildings, including the installation of photovoltaics, heat pumps, energy storage facilities and thermal modernisation.

Form of support: Possibility of deducting up to PLN 53,000 from the tax base (depending on the costs incurred).

Institution: Tax offices (deduction in PIT settlement).

Objective: Reducing the costs of investments in renewable energy sources and energy modernization through tax relief.

4- Stop Smog Program

Scope: Support for owners of single-family buildings in a difficult financial situation. Subsidies for replacing old heat sources with ecological ones and installing renewable energy sources.

Form of support: Grant up to 70% of eligible costs. Exceptionally, grant up to 100% of costs may be granted when the beneficiary is unable to cover the remaining amount due to very difficult financial situation. However, these conditions depend on local regulations.

Institution: NFOŚiGW, WFOŚiGW in cooperation with local governments.

Goal: Reducing pollutant emissions and combating energy poverty by modernizing heating systems.

5- Clean Air Loan (BOŚ Bank)

Scope: Financing photovoltaic installations, heat pumps and other solutions improving energy efficiency in single-family buildings.

Form of support: Preferential loan with a subsidy under the Clean Air Programme.

Institution: Bank Ochrony Środowiska (BOŚ Bank).

Objective: Facilitating the financing of renewable energy investments under the Clean Air Programme.

6-My Wind Farm Program

Scope: Co-financing of installation of small wind farms with a capacity of up to 20 kW and energy storage facilities,

Form of support: Subsidy of up to 50% of eligible costs, maximum PLN 30,000 for installation and PLN 17,000 for energy storage.

Institution: NFOŚiGW, WFOŚiGW.

Goal: Increasing the use of wind energy in households as an alternative to photovoltaics.

Institutions and organizations conducting recruitment:

1. National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW) – runs the “Mój Prąd”, “Czyste Powietrze” and “Stop Smog” programmes.
2. Provincial Funds for Environmental Protection and Water Management (WFOŚiGW) – implement regional editions of NFOŚiGW programmes.
3. Tax offices – responsible for implementing the thermal modernisation relief as part of the annual PIT settlement.
4. Bank Ochrony Środowiska (BOŚ Bank) – offers preferential loans supporting renewable energy investments under the Clean Air Programme.
5. Local governments – cooperate with the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in implementing the “Stop Smog” programme, offering support to individuals at the local level.

Assistance programs for companies in the field of renewable energy installations and increasing energy efficiency in Poland

1- Energy Plus

Scope: Financing for projects related to renewable energy sources (RES), including photovoltaics, wind turbines, energy storage.

Form of support: Loans up to PLN 85% of eligible costs or grants.

Organisation: National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW).

Goal: Reducing the negative impact of companies on the environment.

2- White Certificate Fund

Scope: Support for projects that reduce energy consumption, including renewable energy installations such as photovoltaics and wind turbines, as well as projects related to energy efficiency.

Form of support: Reimbursement of part of the costs depending on the energy saved (minimum 116.3 MWh).

Organisation: Energy Regulatory Office (ERO).

Goal: Promotion of energy savings through innovative solutions.

3- Thermal Modernization Bonus

Scope: Co-financing of thermal modernisation projects, including photovoltaic installations, heat pumps and other renewable energy technologies.

Form of support: Loan subsidy, covering up to PLN 41% of investment costs.

Organization: National Economy Bank (BGK).

Goal: Improve energy efficiency and reduce energy costs.

4- Ecological Credit

Scope: Preferential loans for renewable energy installations, thermal modernization, and other investments related to energy efficiency.

Form of support: Loans granted on preferential terms, including long-term repayments and low interest rates.

Organization: Bank Ochrony Środowiska (BOŚ), commercial banks in cooperation with NFOŚiGW.

Objective: Financing ecological projects for companies, providing them with attractive credit conditions.

5- Horeca Program

Scope: A program dedicated to companies from the catering and hotel sector, supporting investments in renewable energy sources and energy storage facilities.

Form of support: Grants and preferential loans for investments.

Organization: NFOŚiGW, WFOŚiGW.

Goal: Supporting Horeca companies in modernizing their energy sources and increasing energy independence.

6- Leasing of renewable energy sources

Scope: Leasing for photovoltaics, wind turbines and energy storage. Companies can lease these technologies without having to incur large, one-time financial outlays.
Form of support: Leasing offered by banks and financial institutions such as BOŚ, BNP Paribas and other commercial banks.

Organization: Commercial banks in cooperation with financial institutions.

Goal: Offering companies an easy and accessible form of financing for renewable energy technologies, with flexible leasing conditions.

Goal: Increasing the share of renewable energy in agriculture, improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

2- Ecological credit (BGK)

Scope: Financing renewable energy investments for farmers, including photovoltaics, energy storage, and energy modernization.

Form of support: Ecological credit with the possibility of using reliefs and subsidies.

Institution: National Economy Bank (BGK).

Goal: Facilitating investments in renewable energy technologies and improving energy efficiency.

3-RES Leasing

Scope: Leasing of renewable energy installations, including photovoltaic, wind and energy storage facilities.

Form of support: Operational and financial leasing, enabling the investment costs to be divided into instalments.

Institutions: Leasing companies specializing in renewable energy.

Goal: To make it easier for farmers to finance investments in renewable energy sources without large upfront costs.

4- Horeca OZE Program (NFOŚiGW)

Scope: Financing for the agritourism sector and small agricultural companies for renewable energy installations, increasing the energy efficiency of buildings.

Form of support: Grants and preferential loans.

Institution: National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW).

Goal: Improving energy efficiency in tourist and agricultural facilities.

5- ARiMR programs

Scope: Energy modernization of farms, renewable energy installations, improvement of energy efficiency.

Form of support: Grants from EU and national funds.

Institution: Agency for Restructuring and Modernisation of Agriculture (ARiMR).

Goal: Supporting investments in renewable energy technologies in agriculture, reducing energy costs and increasing the competitiveness of farms.

1- Renewable Energy Grant

Scope: Grants for investments in renewable energy sources, including photovoltaic installations, wind turbines and energy storage.

Form of support: Grant covering up to 50% investment costs.

Organisation: NFOŚiGW and Provincial Funds for Environmental Protection and Water Management (WFOŚiGW).

Goal: Supporting housing communities and cooperatives in investing in renewable energy solutions.

2- Stop Smog Program

Scope: Support for housing communities and cooperatives in replacing old heat sources with ecological systems and installing renewable energy sources (photovoltaics, heat pumps).

Form of support: Grants up to 100% of eligible costs (depending on local programs).

Institution: NFOŚiGW in cooperation with local governments.

Goal: Reducing smog by modernizing heating and energy installations in multi-family buildings.

4- Thermal Modernisation and Renovation Fund (BGK)

Scope: Funding for thermal modernization and RES installations in multi-family buildings. Includes modernization of heating systems, photovoltaics, and heat pumps.

Form of support: Thermal modernisation bonus covering PLN 20% of investment costs (or more in the case of renewable energy sources), thermal modernisation loans.

Institution: National Economy Bank (BGK).

Goal: Increasing the energy efficiency of multi-family buildings, reducing energy costs and emissions.
